Okay so the title is a little OTT but I have all of a sudden, literally just today, started to feel quite Christmassy. I don't know whether it's because the temperature outside has quite dramatically dropped and it suddenly feels quite wintery, or because I started discussing Christmas diary entries with a friend this morning which very much included meeting up for some mulled wine, the possibility of some ice skating and even the unlikely hood of entering the Edinburgh santa run on the 11th December, the former two of course much more likely than the later.
My mince pie cravings even seem to have beaten the Christmas music this year as while perusing some of the Christmas treats the shops had to offer today I was a little disappionted to hear Eagle Eyed Cherry's 'Save tonight' instead of the usual Slade anthem. Anyway here are somethings that contributed to or enhanced my Christmassy spirit today. I'm sure there will be many similar posts to this one in the lead up to the big day.
I bought these lovely candle sticks from a florist near my flat while out buying lunch. They were £12.99 each and will look beautiful with some red candles in them by my fireplace at Christmas.
I decided to have some tasty Christmas treats after lunch today and I absolutely love iced lebkuchen stars. If you haven't tried them before they are like little gingerbread cakes with a hard iced shell. I only buy these at Christmas so for me they are synonymous with the festive season.
I also popped into Lush after watching Fleur de Force's latest blog on a Lush and Mac Haul. She tempted me into buying the cinders bath bomb and the Lil Christmas pud after she described the smells of them. The cinders bath bomb smells of cinnamon, ginger and vanilla and absolutely amazing and I actually prefer it to the lil Christmas pud which smells more soapy but I could not resist the look of it.
The gingerbread house is actually a Christmas special bubble bath which I prefer more than bath bombs so if I like this one I will definitely purchase more to see me through the year. The gingerbread house contains ginger essential oil and lemon oil so it gives off a nice fruity and spicy smell and also has a little cinnamon stick chimney ... just think mulled wine but without the wine. Yum!
Lush also has some beautiful and eye-catching gift sets perfectly suited for Christmas gifts including a pretty in pink snow fairy box full of pretty treats. https://phoenix.lush.co.uk/product/5716/Snow-Fairy-Gift.
Hope you have a lush festive season...X
